Calendula Chronicles

Thank you for being here & considering this kind of Support

Calendula Chronicles is a platform that serves to include your story of pregnancy, birth, and family making in the larger story of life as these anatomical bodies. The inspiration is to notice that we get to be active participants in the narratives we see and the ones we want to be a part of, and make a living mythology. In Spanish the process of birth and birthing is called “dar la luz” which means “to give light”. I am fascinated by the ways in which we can carry light within our bodies, so that we may be the candles that we need.

This service includes the bridging of Earth based practices and modern science modalities. This means I am combining my knowledge of herbal medicine, food, and academic health information to be multidirectional and wholistic in care giving.

My promise to you is to provide care that is rounded by informational, emotional, and physical support so that your way of learning is acknowledged and supported throughout our relationship and your journey regardless of birth outcome. The hope is to create memories for you that are filled with experiences of preparedness, supportive community, and trust in yourself.

That being said, my family comes from the following places in Mexico: Guanajuato, San Miguel el Alto Jalisco, and Durango. I am first generation in the U.S. on my dad’s side and second generation in the U.S. on my mother’s side. I am trained as a birth doula through the Simkin Center for Allied Birth Vocations at Bastyr University. I have an ongoing early childhood care giving service called “Sprouts” that I started in 2019. I was able to start Sprouts after graduating from Humboldt State with a BA in Child Development.

I make many lists, and I am often found poeming about the micro and macro phenomena that surround us on a daily basis.

I am an indigenous, gender questioning~queer, and androgynous person.

I am here to serve families of various structures & dynamics, and people of all identities.

The commitment is to activate evermore restoration of the historical & current systemic injustices with the direct action of empowering our communities to have access to beneficial reproductive care services.
